The MTV
EMA's (also known as the MTV Europe Music
Awards) will be held in Frankfurt, Germany
on November 11, . This will be the fifth
time that Germany and the second time that
Frankfurt will be host city of the EMA's.
On September 17 the nominees were announced.
Rihanna received seven nominations while
Katy Perry and Taylor Swift five, leading
the categories. This year added new regional
categories to compete in the Best Worldwide
Act, also this year the Best Look category
was introduced.
The MTV
Europe Music Awards always changes its
host city. Up until now United Kingdom
hosted the event thrice. Germany has
hosted the event for a fourth time in
2009 when the awards were held in Berlin
on 5 November 2009. The 2010 MTV Europe
Music Awards took place
in Madrid, Spain, while in 2011 it was
the turn of Dublin.
The awards
are presented annually and broadcast live
on MTV Europe, MTVNHD and most of the international
MTV channels as well as online. The 2010
MTV Europe Music Awards will be in Madrid,
Spain. The nominees were announced on September
20, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga tie with five
nominations each; Eminem close behind them
with four. Eva Longoria will be the hosting
of this years MTV EMA's and she said "I
am so excited to host the 2010 EMAs in the
beautiful and sexy city of Madrid!. I can’t
wait to see some fabulous performances and
I am so proud that the two most nominated
artists this year are two amazing women
- Lady Gaga and Katy Perry - who are making
some of the most exciting music in pop right
now!". Katy Perry and Linkin Park will perform
at the Puerta de Alcalá.
The Festhalle
Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main, Germany,
built from 1907 to 1909, is a multi-purpose
hall at the Frankfurter Messegelände. The
interior of about 40 metres high dome provides
an area of 5,646 square metres up to 4,880
seats. Together with the two tiers up to
9,843 people will in the banquet hall space,
unseated at the interior than 13,500.

here on September 24, 2004. In November
2008, British hard rock band Deep Purple
played a one-off show in the Festhalle,
Frankfurt during the band's 40 Year
Anniversary Tour. The MTV Europe Music
Awards was held in the Festhalle,
Frankfurt, in 2001. Depeche Mode, filmed
part of their show at the sports arena
on July 27, 1993, for the live home
video, Devotional.
