Caribbean Carnival is the term used for a number of events that take place in many of the Caribbean islands annually. The Caribbean's Carnivals all have several common themes many originating from Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, based on folklore, culture, religion,and tradition (not on amusement rides, as the word "carnival" is often used in American English). Carnival tradition is based on a number of disciplines including: "Playing Mas"/Masquerade; Calypso Music and crowning a Calypso King or Monarch; Panorama (Steel Band Competition); Jouvert morning; and a number of other traditions.

The 4th Annual Miami Broward Carnival is set for October 7, at Sun Life Stadium, Home of the Miami Dolphins. This event celebrates the pulsating steel pan and soca music, dazzling costumes, sumptuous foods and lively spirit of South Floridaís Caribbean and international community, with an action packed schedule of festivities including Junior Carnival, Parade of Bands, Concert and Stage Show.

This year's event will celebrate the 50th anniversary of independence of both Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. The extraordinary line-up includes the internationally known king of soca, Machel Montano and the HD Band, the legendary Byron Lee's Dragonaires, Patrice Roberts and Farmer Nappy. Complimenting T & Tís hottest Soca star is the legendary all-man Calypso band, Byron Leeís Dragonaires. Once led by the late Jamaican Soca Pioneer Byron Lee, the band known for their candy-apple jackets synthesizes Calypso, Reggae, Soca, Ska, Rocksteady and Rock & Roll.

Sun Life Stadium is an American football stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, a suburb of Miami. It is the home stadium of the Miami Dolphins National Football League team, and the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. It also hosts the Orange Bowl, an annual college football bowl game. It was the home to the Florida Marlins baseball team from 1993 to 2011. Originally named Joe Robbie Stadium, it has also been known as Pro Player Park, Pro Player Stadium, Dolphin Stadium, Dolphins Stadium, and Land Shark Stadium.
