Event Information:
Parklife festival, is a national
outdoor music festival held every
year in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide,
Perth, and Melbourne Australia, it
is a one day music festival based on
the electronic, indie and dance
music genres. Local musical talent
is showcased, as well as
international guests. An official
After Party known as After Life
begins at the end of the festival in
each city. Parklife Festival is for
over 18 year olds only and alcoholic
beverages can be purchased inside
the venue.
Parklife started as a very small
party in a park in March of 2000 to
share the music we love with other
like-minded people in a beautiful
outdoor setting close to the centre
of the city, and although it’s grown
just a bit over the last 11 years
the idea is exactly the same: Music
we love, smiling people and a great
party amongst grass, trees and
(hopefully!) brilliant blue skies,
right in the heart of the city.
A
music festival is a festival
oriented towards music that is
sometimes presented with a theme
such as musical genre, nationality
or locality of musicians, or
holiday. They are commonly held
outdoors, and are often inclusive of
other attractions such as food and
merchandise vending machines,
performance art, and social
activities. The Pythian Games at
Delphi included musical
performances, and may be one of the
earliest festivals known.[1] During
the Middle Ages festivals were often
held as competitions. Many festivals
are annual, or repeat at some other
interval. Some, including many rock
festivals, are held only once. Some
festivals are organized as
for-profit concerts and others are
benefits for a specific cause.
