Event Information:
This
year is Las Vegas, will be
welcomed on style with a host of
famous names and massive events,
focused as always on The Strip. For
NYE there will be 14 hours of
live concerts across 3 different
stages on the Strip. This is an over
21 event, so adults only, and places
are limited so make sure you have
your tickets well in advance. It is
rumoured that Kim Kardashian will
again be hosting New Year's Eve at
TAO Nightclub.
The
Las Vegas New Year's Eve
fireworks will be among the most
spectacular ever, with midnight
displays from the rooftops of 8 of
the major casinos, including the
Stratosphere Tower, MGM Grand,
Tropicana, Planet Hollywood,
Treasure Island, The Venetian and
Aria Resort and Casino. The
soundtrack to the firework display
will include music from LMFAO, Lady
Gaga, Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Pitbull,
Jennifer Lopez and Adele.

The
nightclubs will as ever be doing a
roaring trade for the occasion. Top
parties to see and be seen at
include those at Caesars Palace, The
Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan,
featuring the Red Hot Chili Peppers
Live, Bellagio, Aria, Hard Rock
(starring the Black Keys with Devine
Fits) and Riviera. The Blue Man
Group will be appearing at the Monte
Carlo Theatre, while the Mandalay
Bay has Gary Allen with Beau and The
Outfit.
Top DJ
sets will be on offer across the
city, and events to look out for
include Party Under the Fireworks
with Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris,
Skrillex and Eric Prydz at Surrender
nightclub, Kelly Rowland and DJ
jazzy Jeff at Rain and Pitbull at
The Palms. Celine Dion will also be
live in concert on NYE, while those
looking for a magical start to the
New Year can go and see David
Copperfield live.
If you
decide to stay on the Strip, the
best ways to get around on New
Year's Eve are by taxi, walking or
using the Las Vegas Monorail. If you
have a car and want to park in a
hotel garage, you might want to
choose one that's near one of the
ends of the Strip rather than in the
middle. Most hotels provide their
own entertainment, as well as the
established shows.
Las
Vegas is the most populous city in
Nevada, United States, the seat of
Clark County, and an internationally
renowned major resort city for
gambling, shopping and fine dining.
Las Vegas, which bills itself as The
Entertainment Capital of the World,
is famous for the number of casino
resorts and associated
entertainment. A growing retirement
and family city, it is the 28th most
populous city in the United States
with an estimated population by the
U.S. Census Bureau of 567,641 as of
2009. The 2009 population estimate
of the Las Vegas metropolitan area
was 1,902,834.
Established in 1905, Las Vegas
officially became a city in 1911.
With the growth that followed, at
the close of the century Las Vegas
was the most populous American city
founded in the 20th century (a
distinction held by Chicago in the
19th century). The city's tolerance
for various forms of adult
entertainment earned it the title of
Sin City, and this image has made
Las Vegas a popular setting for
films and television programs. There
are numerous outdoor lighting
displays on Fremont Street, as well
as elsewhere in the city.
