Event Information:
The
Phuket New Year’s Eve bash on Surin
Beach is being officially promoted
by Paris Hilton and will run from
December 30 to the first sunrise of
, and has already booked a
number of world-class artists and
DJs, including Basement Jaxx, Alex
Gaudino and the club sensation LMFAO.
Artists will perform on the centered
stage in the ocean with an LED
backdrop, backed by a live laser
show.
Organisers of the party at Surin
beach on Phuket have announced that
the event is expected to attract as
many as 300,000 people to Phuket
over the NYE holiday period. The
event will begin at 1 pm on December
30 and end sometime on January 1.
The event is being arranged by
Sydictive Element. Surin Beach is
located on the west coast of Phuket,
about 15 km north of Patong.
Surin
Beach still has a small village
atmosphere, but this is gradually
changing as more and more major
housing developments and hotel
projects get underway. Accommodation
is not cheap and the best prices are
around 500 baht in the low season.
The beach itself has clear water and
beautiful white sand, and is lined
with tall casuarina trees and small
Thai style restaurants.
The
thing to do in Surin is to chill out
at the beach, which is nicely
separated from the hotels and the
main road by a disused golf course
turned into a park. The beach is
lined from end to end with
restaurants and cafes, which will
happily rent you a sun lounger and
umbrella. Along the beach road there
is a large array of simple
restaurants offering denatured,
totally spiceless Thai food and
simple international dishes for
tourists, but the specialty is
seafood. In the last few years there
has been a new wave of redevelopment
on the beach road resulting in some
international standard restaurants.
