Event Information:
The
Olympic Flame will be extinguished
at the ceremony, as normally happens
at each Olympics, to signal the end
of the games. It will be lit again
on 7 February 2014 in Sochi, Russia
during the opening ceremony of the
2014 Winter Olympics.
British music will be at the centre
of the closing ceremony. The show
called 'A Symphony of British Music'
will involve established British
acts and new talent to celebrate the
fact that music has been one of
Britain’s strongest cultural exports
over the last 50 years. It will be
headed by Sir Paul McCartney. The
creative director and choreographer
of the ceremony is Kim Gavin. The
rest of the line-up includes
designer Es Devlin, music director
David Arnold and lighting director
Patrick Woodroffe alongside
executive producer Stephen Daldry.
There
will be around 4,100 performers at
the ceremony including 3,500 adult
volunteers, 380 schoolchildren from
the six Olympic host boroughs and

15 rehearsals for volunteers, taking
place in Three Mills Studio and at a
full scale site in East London. The

and Paralympic ceremonies is £80
million which is double the original
budget.[6] With the opening ceremony
set to cost £27 million, the
remainder will be shared across the
other three ceremonies. Super models
