The
Silver Jubilee Bridge crosses the
River Mersey and the Manchester Ship
Canal at Runcorn Gap between Runcorn
and Widnes in Cheshire, England. It
is a through arch bridge which was
opened in 1961 and widened in
1975-77. It carries the A533 road
and a cantilevered footway. The
bridge is a grade II listed
building.
It is
proposed that two access roads
connecting the Silver Jubilee Bridge
with the regional road network in
Widnes will be removed. They are:
The A533 Queensway between the
Silver Jubilee Bridge and Speke
Roundabout Interchange (A562). The
link between the Silver Jubilee
Bridge and the A557 Widnes Eastern
Bypass.
